J'avais posé une question l'an dernier au sujet de CaR.

Je reviens avec CaRMetal (GPL et gratuit). Est-il possible d'insérer des figures CaRMetal dans WIMS ? Comment pourrait-on faire ?

Au sein du groupe IREM auquel j'appartiens, cela nous intéresserait beaucoup. Cela rajouterait une fonctionnalité très intéressante à WIMS en vue des stages de formation à venir.

De plus le développeur de CarMetal (Eric Hackenholtz) est dans notre académie (Toulouse).

Pour l'instant :

- il y a une applet zirkel.jar utilisable directement dans wims. C'est avec elle qu'est fait l'outil sur les polyèdres réguliers

- Il me semble que Joke en a fait une version un peu modifiée pour faciliter les échanges entre l'applet et wims (ce qui permettrait éventuellement de créer un type de réponse l'utilisant) et le "rendre javascriptable".
Je pense qu'elle l'utilise aussi dans ses exercices, mais elle le dira mieux que moi.
(j'espère que je ne dis pas trop de bêtises !).
J'aurais voulu y travailler dessus et c'est pour cela que je n'avais pas répondu ...

Maintenant, CaRMetal est peut-être un peu différent de zirkel.jar.

S'il s'agit simplement de l'insérer, cela ne pose pas de problème comme tout applet insérable dans une page html (si c'est bien le cas).

La question est de savoir ce qu'on veut en faire pour des exercices.

Dans le même ordre d'idées, et même si cela intéresse moins les mathématiciens, on a commencé avec Yves Noel un type de réponses utilisant l'applet Jmol.

Bref pour développer, il faudrait finalement avoir quelques textes d'exercices l'utilisant.
Voilà pour ma part où j'en suis.

I've no experience with the CarMetal branch of the Zirkel program, but I guess it will behave similar.

As for WIMS usage of the Zirkel applet; it is limited to visualisation of Wims-gererated data.
The applet receives these data as XML-string/file through the normal WIMS "getfile" method.


At this moment the GeoGebra-applet is used to check and grade a student construction/drawing.
This is due to the fact that GeoGebra includes a set of very handy javascript functions.
These public functions can selectively send/receive data.
There is even an OEF answer_type GeoGebra for this purpose.

Whereas the Zirkel-applet only has a single getConstruction() function ,
which sends the complete construction (...) as XML-string.
This is non-specific and hard to process.

If the author of CarMetal could include specific javascript functions (similar to GeoGebra) in the CarMetal-applet,
it would be a very fine enhancement of our WIMS system.

I may be wrong but i think that Carmetal is more than a branch of CaR. Let's say it's a fork with, now, very specific options. At first glance one could have the feeling that it is only a frontend to CaR but changes are deeper.

Ok I ask him to come and visit us here. He will be the right man in the right place ! btw as far as i know, CarMetal includes a complete set of javascript communications features :
